Hi, everyone. I came here to ask your advice. I have some problems with my fertility due to a low ovarian reserve. I didn’t know about this problem until I married my DH. We’ve been TTC for nearly 3 years without any positive results. I made loads of health tests, but they didn’t reveal anything special. Finally, we agreed to do an IVF with my own eggs. The RE collected 10 eggs and we’ve got 5 embryos. I did get pregnant, but this pregnancy finished with MC on the 6th week. It was a big blow for us. I spent days and nights crying. When the heart pain eased, we continued TTC naturally, but again without any positive result. I consulted another gyny and she said that a bad ovarian reserve might be the main reason why I can’t get pregnant. She advises us DE IVF… Now, we have to decide what to do further: to continue TTC naturally or try DE IVF… My hubby wants to try a fertility treatment. He says it would give us better chances to conceive. I hesitate because the child will be conceived with the help of a donor egg. Genetically, it won’t be mine. For me, it’s a hard choice… We have already visited several fertility clinics. The first one seems to be ok. We found quite a lot of feedbacks about it on various fertility forums. The ladies who made DE IVF there praise them. We also liked their prices. However, our first visit to that clinic made me a little bit puzzled. It was so overcrowded with the patients. There wasn’t a vacant place even to stand there. The waiting room was full of people and we had to wait in the hall. It took us nearly 2 hours before we were able to see the fertility specialist. I quite liked her. The doctor was very attentive to every single detail. She asked so many questions… I didn’t like the second clinic at all. Though it was empty, I didn’t like the atmosphere there. It was a little bit frightening… I quite liked the first clinic, but my hubby thinks we shouldn’t choose it.. Any ideas what to do further?

First I have to say this brought tears to my eyes and I literally felt your pain through your story.

I know going the donor route would feel like a "kick in the ovaries" BUT it would be a child conceived through you and your husband. Where you would house this baby for 9 months while he/she grows.

Theres no doubts in my mind you wouldn't be over the moon for this little one. You've tried for so long. Which means you will already be a fantastic mother and maybe this was the way the stars were suppose to align for this baby. Maybe this baby was meant to be yours, because that's exactly what it would be. Yours 💛

As far as clinics. They were standing and waiting for a reason! Always go with your gut. That doc might be the best in the field near you.

Im assuming you've tried all the natural TTC remides since you've been at this a while?

Hi! ED is considered to be the best solution for a low ovarian reserve. Do you have anybody in your family who was diagnosed with an early menopause? As far as I know, it’s a genetic issue. However, you shouldn’t give up TTC naturally. Sometimes miracles do happen!

P.S. As for the clinics, I would choose the one you feel comfortable with. Good luck in your TTC journey!

Firstly, I  am so sorry to read of your struggles to conceive. My heart breaks for you and the baby you yearn for.

Secondly, that place was likely so busy because it is the best and people are flocking to it.  I say go with it if your gut, your head and your heart are all for it.

Having a dr you feel comfortable with will make all the difference in the world.

Hugs. Wishing you the best on your journey to conceive x

Hi, ladies! Thanks for your support and help! I really needed someone to share my story with. I do have several distant female relatives who have fertility issues. However, I’m the one in my family who has problems with fertility. As for the natural remedies, I didn’t try anything. My gyny says it’s really impossible to improve the quality of the oocytes, and ED will the best solution for me.

Really sad to hear this, hun! If I were in your shoes, I would try everything. In some cases herbal medicines do help. The only problem is you should find the right medicine. It’s really hard to do this. As for the clinic, I would recommend you to deal with the clinic that has the highest success. You may also check the way they find egg donors for their clients to be sure that you’re provided with the oocytes of the best quality.

The thing is the clinic does seem to have rather good success rates. Before visiting them for the first time, we did a little homework. We visited some fertility forums and found some favorable feedbacks about this clinic. We also liked their egg donation very much, especially their prices. I should admit that not all fertility clinics are ready to provide such reasonable price. Unfortunately, we can’t offer egg donation in luxurious fertility clinics… These were the main reasons why we decided to choose them.

Darkstar, I think you should pay more attention to they way they choose an egg donor for you. I think it’s essential to do this as you need oocytes of high quality to get pregnant. I think it’s better to deal with the clinic that offers oocytes of young and healthy ladies. It’s quite important to ask the clinic’s specialists to check the heredity of the egg donor before signing up a contract. If I were in your shoes, I would pay attention to these things. I don’t think large lines are the right thing to pay attention to. At any rate, I wish you good luck in your egg donation journey.

The clinic we’ve got interested in offers us oocytes of 18-25 year old ladies. They guarantee that all egg donors are tested to see whether they are healthy enough to share their eggs. The clinic’s representatives will also check the heredity of the egg donor. They won’t deal with a woman whose parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles have any hereditary issue. Our program manager told us that they choose only women who are already moms to become egg donors. This is the way this clinic chooses egg donors for its clients. What do you think about it?

Hi, everyone! Thanks, CachingBabie! I didn’t want to acknowledge at first, but I had to experience DE IVF several years ago, so I know something about it. Darkstar, I think it’s great that they offer you oocytes of 18-25-old women. They are really considered the best for DE IVF. But I have several more questions for you. How are they going to choose an egg donor particularly for your DE IVF? Will you be able to see a photo of the egg donor?

Hi, Dia! Thanks for your story. I’m really glad to meet such sympathetic and responsive ladies here! Before visiting the clinic for the first time, we sent them a short description of the lady who would suit us as an egg donor. We specified her weight, height, eye and hair color. Our program manager told us that the clinic has a large database of egg donors. They usually use a special software to find an appropriate egg donor for their clients. This is the way the clinic selects egg donors for their clients. What do you think about it?

Sounds quite ok, hun! Seeing photos of egg donors will give you an opportunity to make a better choice. As far as I know, such option isn’t allowed everywhere, so it’s great that you’ve found a clinic that gives you an opportunity to find an egg donor by yourself. However, will they charge any fees for such a service? Some fertility clinics offer their clients optional services to earn more. What about your clinic? Do they offer any optional services?

I was popping in to check on you @Darkstar glad to see things seem to be possibly going your way. The clinic seems to be a great place! They will try to find donors based on what you want or if you want someone with your physical features as well :)

good luck and keep us updated on your journey!
